Hi. I have been a member of St. Joseph Church since 1979, and taught Religious Education (RE) for 5 years. I have taught 6th grade RE for 2 years and am now teaching my 3rd year of 4th grade RE. It is exciting to see the kids and the teens grow in their faith and learn that religion is not all about going to Mass on Sunday.
I have raised four teens, my own two daughters and 2 stepsons. I enjoy sharing what I have learned in my life with others and think that our teens can benefit from what I can teach them. One of my daughters is in the youth group and my other daughter is the Youth Group Coordinator, Michelle, so helping out with the youth group means quality time with my girls that I can share with others as well. Besides, working with the Youth Group gives me an excuse to do fun “teen” things that I wouldn’t otherwise do! We have already gone to Fright Fest at Great America and have plans to take Christmas cards to the nursing home and to go ice skating. I’m really excited about the ice skating since I bought ice skates 10 years ago and haven’t had a reason to wear them yet.
